Well… we’ve just been surfing our tails off lately. Mostly at Wilderness. The swell was starting to fade a little bit, but there were still plenty of waves for the past 2 days. About 4-5 feet with occasional head-high waves that came through. Less people with the decrease in wave size. Mostly we had completely clean conditions too, with little wind/offshore winds. These are some of my favorite times at Wildo, because the waves are still great, and it’s not as crowded. I had so many waves in the last few days it’s hard to get specific about any of them. Lots of long, slope-y rights at Wildo and steeper, faster lefts. I’ve had so much fun, and so has Sheena. She has had some of her best surfing days ever in the last few days—well done lady!
Other than surfing we’ve been pretty boring. All we do is eat, sleep, relax and surf. Naptime, cookies, and watching Showtime’s Dexter are ranking really high on the popularity list. We didn’t even go out Friday or Saturday nights! We’ve made a plan to go out Wednesday night, which is apparently a good night to go out in Jobos, where we are staying. Looks like that will be our one and only “party night” while we are here.

I’ve started working in the afternoons from my laptop, and I like to take breaks to walk around the yard where we are staying… Kathy and Terry’s amazing property sits up on the cliff that overlooks Jobos Beach. They’ve got lots of trees, including tons of tropical fruit trees, flowers, birds, insects, and lizards. I love to look at them all. They also have a really cool tree-stand that you can climb up to and look down at the beach. Everything is so tranquil and fragrant in the yard. I love love love it. It’s very ZEN.
This morning we did a photo shoot at Surfer's Beach with John who owns Ola Lola Garden Bar. This is my second-favorite surf spot in PR. The waves have great form and are always fun, even when it is small. Today was about 4-5 feet. There were a good amount of people out today, but I still managed to get a bunch of good waves. I was stoked for this, since we had John shooting. I’m pretty happy with the pics we got! (See below)
It was fun having both Terry and Kathy out in the line-up today. They have lived in Puerto Rico for over 20 years now, and are both great surfers. I think it is so cool that they moved here as a couple and still surf together into their fifties now. Same with my friends Diana and Hector, who surf together with their two young sons. What an awesome thing to do together as a family.

Diana and Hector own and operate El Carey restaurant just down the road from us. It’s amazing… healthy, delicious food with Caribbean/Latin flare. We eat and drink coffee there often on their outdoor porch. They play reggae and mellow rock and have a great vibe.
